Samui. That's the name given to the island by humans. But what do the trees call the island? They probably call it home. They may call it Earth as it is a part of the Earth. They might call it soil as that's what their roots clasp onto especially during storms like the one that occurred before these pictures were taken.

It does take some imagination to wonder about the relationship of the trees to the Earth. For them, the island isn't a holiday destination. It's not a tourism hotspot. It's their natural environment. It's a small part of the web of nature that permeates the planet. What can we do as humans to preserve nature in an expanding world?
