This Month Last Year in Photos

It's said that a photo is worth a thousand words. A single photo has the power to tell many stories. Look at the different corners of a photo; the different expressions, and postures; the different shades and hues; light and darkness; and look the interconnection between them all. Each aspect of a photo can tell its own mini story. These mini stories then contribute to the singularity of the photo, the common theme, the main connecting idea.

The photo ends at the edge of the frame of the camera. But the real life picture is more vast than that. The real life pictures continue on and on without ever really ending at any one place. Which exact point determines where the city stops and the sky starts? Perhaps we could trace a thin line on a photo but in reality, there is no line. And even that line in the photo has depth and breadth. Everything is a continuation of one another. All the photos contribute towards a giant story. Take away the cameras and frames and all of it merges into one another like water and air. And so each photo actually paints the picture of one small fractal of life in the universe, a little story. And that universe is the one single story, of which all our little stories are but extensions. The universe is expressing itself through these sub-stories.

The angels are making it rain on me.

Steffen stayed with me for part of the story.

Charles speaks the language of photography well as that is his art. He's the one who took all the photos in this post about a few sub-stories of the Klongrien Market at the time.

That idea doesn't undermine the little stories we all have. Look at it another way and we can say that the universe is within each and every one of those stories. The one is in the all and the all is in the one. No story can be more storyful than another. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Sure you could say that an orange is more orange than an apple or that an apple has more crunch but it's not really the point. Red is redder than blue but blue wasn't trying to be red. It was doing its own thing, experiencing its own frequency on the spectrum.

The real life characters that inhabit these stories are the same. They are expressions of the same universe, at different degrees of the vibrational frequency. One cannot be more of itself than another. The various beings that we meet, come into our lives and merge with our stories. We will have our own perspectives, different narratives, and different thoughts on the story. However all of that contributes towards the wealth of contrast the single story provides.

Hatyai and the Sky

Jahu merged with the stories of those two local girls for a brief time as she asked them to take a photo of us from that vantage point.

Aqua Aerobics

Jahu jumped right in the ring, always a willing participant.

The solo stories do come to an end. Travellers pick themselves up off the couch they've been surfing on and move on to the next station in their individual story, their personal legend. But that is the starting point of a new story. And the one single story, the great song of the universe is always far from over. That story is infinite. We're here to share the timeline for a very small time on the planet until that story also ends...and another begins. But our time in the universe? That's as infinite as the one song itself.

Jahu and Pierre came and added a lot of joy to the total story we co-created.

There's a lot of good things that could be said about AJ. It would have been nice to host him longer than he stayed and to extend our common story that way.
